WOW, my little old website hit it big when the following article about the
Buckskin Division Strips was made famous in the International Scouting Collectors Journal.
The Buckskin Council
has never issued a CSP with a division name on it. In 1993 when the council merged with the Appalachian Council, and
Chief Cornstalk Council, each council became a division of the Buckskin Council. The executive board of those councils became
Divisional Boards. They continued to meet monthly. Any decision they made had to be approved by the executive board of the
Buckskin Council. Having no real authority, we decided to dissolve the divisional concept. During that time, each scout or
scouter wore the Buckskin Council S3 CSP. Under the CSP was placed a division strip depending upon the council you came
from. I would like to point out that the Chief Cornstalk did issue a CSP with district names. The S3 issue came out
after a mistake was made on the S2 issue. The S2 mistakenly identified those districts as counties.
